Fans have chosen their favorite Quirk from My Hero Academia in the new popularity poll, but surprisingly, it’s not One For All.

My Hero Academia manga ended on August 4, 2024, after successfully running for a decade. To commemorate the manga’s finale, a series of projects were announced, including a global popularity poll called ‘World Best Hero’.

The poll started on August 5 and will continue until September 30. It’s already been two weeks since the voting started and the results are turning out to be quite the mixed bag, with some expected and some surprising.

One of the most baffling results is from the Quirk ranking poll. So far, the main trio have taken the first three spots – but not in the order you’d expect. At number three, we have Shoto’s Half-Cold Half-Hot. It’s understandable since it’s one of the most powerful Quirks in My Hero Academia.

However, it’s the first and second spots that hold the real surprise. At number two sits Deku’s One For All, the cumulative transferable Quirk he received from his idol All Might. And as you’ve already guessed at this point: Bakugo’s Explosion takes the top spot.

It’s quite strange since no matter how powerful Explosion is (and it’s very powerful indeed), it’s still no match for One For All. Deku’s Quirk not only gives him unparalleled strength and speed but also lets him use the Quirks of the previous users.

That means whoever holds One For All has access to multiple Quirks, including some very strong ones like Gearshift and Fa Jin and some very useful ones like Danger Sense and Black Whip.

However, it seems Bakugo’s popularity has impacted the results of the World Best Hero, ensuring him the top spot in most polls. He’s already leading the global popularity rankings with a huge number of votes. Seems like he’ll turn out to be the number one character after all.

This isn’t the first time we see Bakugo’s popularity in action. Throughout the ten-year reign of My Hero Academia, Bakugo has won the top spot in every popularity poll except the first one. It’s pretty obvious that fans’ love for him has only grown since then.
