Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is going viral after starting a YouTube channel, and IShowSpeed desperately wants to collaborate with his sports idol.

If there’s one thing to know about streaming sensation IShowSpeed, it’s that he’s a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. In fact, he even owns a supercar decked out with a decal of the footballer on the hood, as well as a $120K watch inspired by the world-famous athlete.

Speed has made no bones about how big of a Ronaldo fan he is — so when the Portugal FC legend started a YouTube channel on August 21, Speed immediately went bonkers.

“Cristiano Ronaldo made a YouTube channel?” he exclaimed. “Oh my god! He’s ’bout to beat all of my subs! …can we collab?”

Speed was obviously extremely excited about Ronaldo’s new YouTube venture, which has already proven extremely successful for the footballer. Mere hours after making his account, his channel already boasts over 5 million subscribers at the time of writing, with more pouring in by the second.

His channel immediately boasted several uploads, all of which have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. His most-viewed video has already hit over one million views, featuring himself and his wife playing a ‘Mr. & Mrs.’ game against each other.

It’s unclear how long it’ll take Ronaldo to catch up to IShowSpeed, who’s garnered a whopping 28 million subscribers on his main channel. However, given the sheer growth Ronaldo has seen in just hours after starting his channel, it’s possible that Speed’s idol might eclipse him on his own platform very soon.

Ronaldo already reigns as the second most-followed account on Instagram, boasting over 636 million followers. He’s beaten only by the official Instagram account itself, which has him beaten by 40 million followers.

However, on YouTube, Ronaldo has a far greater mountain to climb. MrBeast currently stands as the platform’s most subscribed creator, boasting over 300 million subscribers — the only user to ever do so in the website’s history.

For now, it seems Speed is more concerned with collaborating with his idol on a potential video… but fans will just have to wait and see if Ronaldo answers the call.
