Yes, the Rings of Power Season 2 release date is finally upon us, and it’s sure to be one of the best TV shows streaming this month.
The Season 1 finale left us in a tantalizing place, not least of all with the tease that Sauron has returned to Mount Doom. And, he may yet have Galadriel as his Queen.
So, what do we know about the new season? Here’s when new episodes are coming and what to expect.
When is the first episode out?
Rings of Power Season 2 begins on Thursday, August 29, 2024, and the good news is we actually get three episodes in one go.
There are no episodes titles or synopses yet. While things are under wraps at the moment, we’re sure more details will emerge as the series gets going.
Rings of Power Season 2 episode schedule
After a triple-bill on August 29, new episodes will drop weekly every Thursday through to the finale on October 3, 2024.

Little is known about what’s to come for the fantasy series at this stage. We know who’s in the Rings of Power cast, and readers of the book the show is based on, The Silmarillion, will have a good idea, too. But, we suspect there’ll be some surprises along the way.

The only way to watch the show is on Prime Video, as it’s an Amazon exclusive. You’ll need to be subscribed to the platform to access Rings of Power.

How many episodes are there?
Rings of Power Season 2 comprises of eight episodes. That’s the same number as Season 1.
It is unclear right now whether the show will keep a similar runtime approach in its second season. Season 1 saw every episode coming in at just over an hour.
