LoL Worlds 2024 is coming up fast, and teams are already beginning to qualify for the biggest League of Legends international of the year.

The League of Legends (LoL) World Championship kicks off on September 25, 2024, and it’s the tournament that marks the end of 2024’s LoL competitive calendar.

However, the way that every team qualifies for Worlds 2024 is different, and getting one of 20 slots at the event isn’t easy.

Additionally, every region has a different number of slots and methods of qualifying in at different stages. Here’s every team that has qualified so far, how they got there, and what other teams have to do to make the cut.

Every team qualified for LoL Worlds 2024

So far, ten teams have locked their spots for Worlds 2024:

  • Gen.G
  • PSG Talon
  • G2
  • Vikings Esports
  • GAM
  • BLG
  • MAD Lions KOI
  • Fnatic
  • Team Liquid
  • Movistar R7

The first is Gen.G, the team that won MSI 2024. Their win at the year’s first big international earned them a guaranteed spot at Worlds 2024 if they could make it to playoffs.

Gen.G qualified for LCK Playoffs pretty early in the split, making them the first team to officially qualify for Worlds. The LCK Playoffs are still pretty early on, so the other three spots have yet to be determined.

BLG, meanwhile, are dominant in the LPL and have locked their spot based on Championship points alone. Three LPL spots are still open.

G2 Esports qualified for Worlds 2024 after winning the LEC Summer 2024 Finals, trouncing Fnatic in a 3-0 win despite being at a massive gold deficit every game. And, with G2’s lower bracket win over Team BDS, Fnatic and MAD Lions KOI locked their spots.

And, with the LCS Playoffs underway, Team Liquid have locked their spot with a near-flawless run to the upper bracket final. Two spots remain.

Meanwhile, the VCS have determined both their qualified teams now that Vikings Esports and GAM have locked in the Grand Final.

Much has changed since the last World Championship as well. For instance, the APAC region now contains the PCS (Southeast Asia), LJL (Japan) and LCO (OCE), meaning that this could be the first time a Japanese team doesn’t qualify for Worlds in a decade if the PCS sweeps finals.

2024 will also be the last year that the LCS, LLA, and CBLOL exist in their current form. Worlds qualification next year will look significantly different.

Here’s a full list of how every team can qualify or has qualified, divided up by region and stage.
